Aims
- The Chamber’s main objective is to promote local business.
- To encourage residents to buy locally.
- To boost Ballyclare’s image within the tourist trade and encourage neighbouring towns and further afield to visit/shop in the town.
- To represent the views and opinions of local businesses and the wider community for the improvement of facilities, services and security of Ballyclare.
Achievements
The Chamber has secured the following benefits for the town in collaboration with Newtownabbey Borough Council and Newtownabbey Town Centre Management Company:
- Part funding for expenses in the running of the Christmas lights.
- Hanging baskets and flower-beds that adorn the town each summer.
- Shop Front Improvement Scheme.
- Radio Link Scheme incorporating counterfeit money detection equipment.
- Successful Blue Cross Sales in 2004 and 2005.
- Editorials in the local press.
- Welcome Pack.
- Ballyclare Chamber of Trade website.
